Some thoughts about Saturday’s Premiership games, based on Match of the Day. October 16, 2011

Posted by Alex Tomchak Scott in English soccer.

I think this is my favorite Premiership duo.

Every time Jermain Pennant touched the ball against Fulham, he looked like he’d make a fool of somebody, and I find myself hoping he’s on the way to something really special. Another special player is Jon Walters, who has a monster physique, a calculator brain and a ballerina touch — I think he may be the most underrated player in the entire league. Norwich is a very fun team to watch as long as Anthony Pilkington and Elliott Bennett are on the field. Junior Hoilett glides past players like they’re not there. I want to like Blackburn manager Steve Kean, but every time I see him interviewed, I want to punch him.
